Jackson, MS - Mississippi Forestry Association Executive Vice President Bruce C. Alt is very pleased to announce that Eleana Turner Pope has assumed additional responsibilities with MFA’s professional staff as Program and Event Coordinator. Eleana will be serving MFA members statewide by working with several of MFA’s committees, including the Board of Directors, Communications, and Environmental Affairs and Wildlife Committees. She will also serve as MFA Staff Liaison to the Mississippi Forestry Foundation and the Advisory Board of Mississippi Project Learning Tree.
In addition to Eleana’s staff liaison responsibilities, she will continue to serve as MFA’s Annual Meeting and Special Events Planner. “Eleana will be instrumental in assisting MFA leaders, members, committees, and staff fully implement our Strategic Plan. She will contribute to our professional staff as MFA seeks to continuously improve our service to our members and Mississippi’s entire forestry community. She will also be responsible for planning and coordinating professionally valuable Annual Meetings, Legislative Luncheons, Board meetings, and other special events such as Arbor Day celebrations,” Alt said.
She served MFA as Communications Director and County Forestry Association Coordinator until her retirement from MFA in 2004. From 2004 until the present, she served as MFA’s Annual Meeting Planner on a contract basis. Prior to joining the MFA Staff in 1996, she served as Public Relations Director for the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality and as an editor for the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
